How do I set up my D-Link 4G Dongle?

If your HarvestEye system uses a D-Link 4G dongle, insert your SIM card, connect it to the USB-C hub, and configure network settings via your browser.

Step-by-Step Setup

  • Remove the Back Cover

    • Slide the back cover off the D-Link 4G dongle.

    • Insert your SIM card into the slot as shown on the label inside.

                                   

    • Reattach the cover once the SIM is securely seated.
  • Connect the Dongle to a Computer (Windows recommended)

    • Plug it into a USB port on your computer or laptop.

    • After a few seconds, a browser window should open automatically.

    • If it doesn’t, manually open a browser and go to http://192.168.0.1/

  • Run the Setup Wizard

    • Follow the on-screen wizard to configure your network.

    • Select Manual Setup if the network provider isn’t automatically detected.

    • Enter the correct APN (Access Point Name) for your SIM provider. These can be found by searching for the APN settings of the carrier such as 'Telstra APN' or 'EE APN'.

    • Save and apply the settings.

  • Reconnect to the HarvestEye Tablet

    • Once the D-Link dongle is configured and showing a connection signal, remove it from your computer.

    • Plug it back into the USB-A port of the HarvestEye USB-C hub enclosure inside your cab.

    • Power on the tablet and check that the Internet icon turns green on the home screen.

  • Restart if Needed

    • If the Internet icon doesn’t appear green after 60 seconds, restart the tablet by holding the power button for 15 seconds, then turning it back on.


Troubleshooting

  • No browser window appears:
    Open http://192.168.0.1/ manually in a browser.

  • No network detected:
    Confirm your SIM has data available and the APN is correct.

  • Still not connecting:
    Try another USB port or check signal strength in your area.
