Can HarvestEye 2.0 calculate the total yield of a field?
No, because HarvestEye 2.0 will not see 100% of the crop due to several reasons
The HarvestEye 2.0 will not be able to see 100% of the crop due to multiple factors, such as crop stacking, obstacles preventing the camera from seeing crop (e.g. bars or mud/rocks), limitations of the belt tracking algorithm, among others. Because it scans a large proportion of the crop from a field, this sample is still statistically relevant to provide accurate insights about the % weight per size band. If the user has an accurate estimate of the total yield of the field, they can use the % weight insights from HarvestEye to estimate how many tons of crop were harvested within a given size range.
